A poem I wrote for all of you

Dedicated to All Veterans

Dedicated to All Veterans - In memory of my Grandfather (WWII) - with

love to my Brother (Present) and Sister (Gulf Era) and a hug for my

Brother (Gulf era) and Father In-law (Korean)

For Our Veterans

I solute you for living

I solute you in death

You fought for freedom

With all of your breath

You answered the call

You suited up with arms

You gave freedom to those who had none

You showed the world of America’s charms

It was not easy

To do what was done

But the end out weighed the means

And you stood and fought for freedom

It wasn’t about God

Or whether he was on your side

It was about freedom for All

And for that many of you died

You carry the bad dreams

Of hardened battles fought

You deal with the history

That sometimes can not be taught

You served in countries the needed you

You served in counties were that was not true

But we all owe our freedom

To each one and every one of you

You have given life

When death was at the front door

You sacrificed your own

For the sick and for the poor

For our freedom

We owe you OUR lives

To the solders of freedom

We wrap you with honorable ties

My words may not be everything to all

But the work you do and have done

Allows us all to walk tall

Thank You, and Bless You ALL Past and Present – by Paul Downs
